If aliens in a movie did to Earth & humanity what fossil fuel executives do in real life, we'd cheer at the climax when their spaceships blow up & cheer even louder if their quislings (like bankers, politicians, PR hacks, & corporate lawyers) were aboard.

I'm just saying.

Americans are realizing that unfettered federal power to detain and arrest is a very dangerous thing. I learned that lesson as a child when they put us into internment camps just for looking like the enemy. Don’t go further down this road.

Shut ICE down, remove the leadership, break DHS apart, and investigate their crimes.

THREAD. I cannot stress enough how differently Democratic Party leaders speak in private vs what they say in public. My strategic advice to them is almost always: just tell the truth. Whenever humanly possible. People will like you more!

And it helps people learn how these systems actually function. Preserving widespread ignorance about how things work--and therefore how to change them--is actually one of the reason political consultants don't like telling the truth.

Now, most Democratic leaders tell various lies in every single public statement and press conference--about what causes crime, about immigration, about health insurance, about genocide, about war, about inequality, etc.--because they don't actually represent the interests of ordinary people.

But there are also Democratic leaders who have integrity and who are being misled by a consultant and donor class drunk off the little games they play to outsmart everyone with increasingly silly ways of putting chocolate chips on turds.

This consultant class has enormous sway over Democratic leaders and their aides. And they're hoping people won't notice that Cory Booker and Chuck Schumer are standing on large steaming piles of shit.` But people definitely notice if you don't offer meaningful solutions and aren't worthy of trust.

🧵 From October 2023 to December 2025, 84 Palestinians, including one minor, died in Israeli prisons. According to some reports, the full figure is higher.

Of the Palestinians known to have died in Israeli custody, 50 were from the Gaza Strip, 31 from the West Bank, and 3 citizens of Israel. (1/3)

Israel released only 4 of the bodies and is holding the remaining 80.

Testimonies given to B’Tselem indicate that the inhuman conditions in these facilities, including deliberate starvation, denial of medical care, severe and systematic violence, and lack of access to basic hygiene (2/3)

As an insurrectionist, Trump is not allowed to hold office under the US constitution's 14th amendment.

Overthrow the fascist usurper already.
Every time Trump breaks the clear letter of the law, the NYT and WaPo write a story about how he’s “pushing boundaries” or “testing the limits of his authority”

He's not Chuck Yeager, guys. He's a crook.

Overthrow this violent criminal fascist regime already.
New — I wrote about ChongLy Scott Thao, the elderly Hmong American wrongly arrested and forced out of his home by ICE in his underwear during the punishing Minnesota winter, what witnesses saw, and DHS's racist claim that he fit the description of another Asian man they were looking for.

My story:
Behind the disturbing image of ICE snatching a half-naked, elderly Hmong American from his home
DHS has claimed without evidence that they were looking for someone else when they took ChongLy Scott Thao.

This.

Fascists don’t see marginalised people as citizens, as simple as that.
German Jews were citizens of Germany at the start of 1933. By the end of 1933, the Nazis had
removed citizenship from naturalized citizen Jews.

In 1935, all German Jews were fully stripped of their German citizenship.

Citizenship under dictatorships is contingent for targeted minorities.

One of many problems with "training" propaganda is that it portrays violence by government as unintentional and accidental. E.g., as something not central to what those in power *want* ICE to be doing. In other words, Democrats pushing "training" are lying to people about the goals:

THREAD. Having just written a book about this and talked to a LOT of Democrats, I can assure you that neither Cory Booker nor the policing industry he’s advertising think that more money for ICE “training” and tech would address any problem that any person of good will has with what ICE is doing.
