Just got my yearly residual check for my offscreen (read: cut but credited) role in Sofia Coppola’s 1999 film “The Virgin Suicides.” I’ll never forget my six callbacks for a lead role, and the consolation-prize part that ended up on the floor of the editing suite. I worked for this $12.09 lol

That feeling when you bought Advil at Costco and can’t find it when you’re cramping, but cannot justify buying more. That feeling is PAIN

I refuse to subscribe to the notion that having enough fear or anxiety will protect me from the things that give me fear and anxiety

24 July is #EarthOvershootDay. That means humanity has used up Earth’s yearly natural resources budget in just 7 months. In 2024, the date was 1 August.

The date keeps creeping earlier—but the trend can be reversed: www.genevaenvironmentnetwork.org/resources/up...

E.T. Investigator to Michael, Elliott’s big bro: so you’re saying Elliott thinks its thoughts?
Michael: no, he feels its feelings

Savouring the moment in E.T. when he and Elliott are connected and he stages the romantic movie scene, kissing his class crush after liberating the dissection frogs. The shot is of the girl’s patent leather shoes, frogs jumping all over them, as Elliott is dragged away. Very alive

I’ve been watching @netflix.com “Man on the Inside” and honestly as someone dealing w their dad receding into dementia I appreciate a comedy that doesn’t glaze over the heartache of memory loss but also centers the cool characters that drive a compelling plot, who happen to be old

One of my daughter’s friends said I’m the only adult she knows who uses abbreviations in text messages. I said she needs fewer sophisticated adults in her life wtf

I’m enjoying “The Life Cycle of the Common Octopus” a novel by Emma Knight so much I don’t want it to end!

I take care of my dad, who has dementia, every Thursday. But this week I really just wanted to watch Sirens. He’s still here but it’s a weird moment. We made the pizza and my dad is wandering the house

My daughter has been twelve for twelve hours. Reflecting on our home birth 12 years ago…the smell of lilacs wafting in the window as I recovered from the marathon. Midwifery care started her life with so much love and comfort

I’m still on IG but it does weird things like play one audio on repeat, layering the voices. It’s really bizarre, but also made me notice the repeated phrase “does this sound familiar?” by three different videos 🧮

My little Gen Alpha. Responsive, but not giving up much. We have one Spotify account so when she wants music, mine gets cut. I gave it to her
