My take is the NWSL is a microcosm of what’s wrong and self-destructive with American capitalism. Short-term profit for the top is all that matters. Long term investment in people is off the table. A lot of owners and the league have yet to prove they actually care beyond tomorrow’s bank account.
The #NWSL wants a "responsible relationship to revenue." But how much would it really cost owners if they increased the salary cap by $1 million? Not That Much Actually!
