1/ I've set up an account with OpenAI to use their API and made an Emacs interface that makes it easy to interact with it.
So far I am NOT too impressed. It does some simple programming tasks well. It wrote a little story about Ruby Bridges that I included in my weekly letter to my granddaughters.

As @joshtpm.bsky.social observes, Trump seems genuinely happy, something we very rarely see. If he actually had a moment of lucidity, he would resign immediately, ask for forgiveness for his transgressions, call JD an a**hole à la @radiofreetom.bsky.social and surrender himself to a prison.
What's going on here is anybody's guess. My crazy guess, is that Trump has had a moment of lucidity, in which he's become aware that his empire is (or might) be coming crashing down on him & is suddenly using his "charm" to escape a catastrophe for him, especially if the Epstein files see the light.
What to Make of That Mamdani-Trump Meeting?

The origin of this violence against trans persons doesn't come from a perceived threat or learned racial or ethnic animus; I can only imagine that arises from a deep fear of something inside the attacker themself, that needs to be quashed to obliterate even the very possibility of its existence.
