My predictions for how Search will evolve in 2025....

1) Keywords in Domains increase in algo weighting
2) Personalization will increase exponentially
3) Rank trackers will become even more of a "directional" indicator due to 2.

Rel=Canonical is a signal, not a directive, and not nearly strong enough for content creators who syndicate and get their results usurped.

Search needs to evolve and include a rel=source attribute which can apply to a portion of a page.

The word on the street is that Google results are more personalized with the November 2024 Core Update. We can now quantify an estimate with an adequate sample size comparing rank tracking lab data against GSC.

Interesting. When testing this across queries, I noticed heavy personalization for things I'm very interested in. And for some, most of the top 10 were personalized (via About this result). But I also saw very similar listings incognito for some queries and they *weren't* personalized... Hmm...

@mcuban.bsky.social I'm still waiting on the wall that Mexico was going to pay for. In terms of your point, the philosophy is "any win is a win worth celebrating".
I think the wrong questions r being asked about the proposed tariffs. The real question Is how little will he accept from Mexico , Canada and China in order to be able to say the threat of tariffs worked ?
