How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.
12 days of work in over 3 months.
With full pay and benefits.
The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.
It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

It’s mind boggling to me that Congressional Republicans would be willing to run for re-election as “the party that doubled your health insurance costs.” #copolitics www.denverpost.com/2025/10/27/c...
Health insurance premiums to double next year on Colorado’s individual market
The monthly “sticker price” of health insurance is rising, and households will have to pay a larger share of that monthly cost than they have since the pandemic.

Funny untold bit of that: I think we'd staked out an oil and gas fundraiser. Coffman had been avoiding us since his comment that Obama wasn't "an American at heart." Another congressman approached the event entrance first and FROZE. "I'm not here for you," I said. He nodded gratefully and entered.
Every time I’m in a media training session and the trainer shows @kylec.bsky.social’s 2012 unscheduled interview with Mike Coffman where the only repeated answer is “I stand by my statement that I misspoke and I apologize.” I am amused. Also, a fantastic “don’t do this!” lesson.
