In Martha’s Vineyard. It is unbelievably picturesque. But I can’t fully immerse and enjoy it because this town has NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS. And I am *too* fascinated by this.

UCL are going back to all in person exams. There is no other solution to this problem currently available.
It's not the biggest problem education is facing but at some point the preference of parents and students for coursework and fewer exams is going to collide with the fact that AI probably necessitates a big return to in-person exams
Shocked (not).

Been a subscriber since I was 16/17 but I might have to let it go this year.
Fraser Nelson is joining The Times in January as a weekly columnist. Nelson, who began his journalism career in 1996 as a business reporter for the title, said: "I think of no greater honour than being a columnist for this newspaper - and no better time to be doing it."

PSA if you haven’t yet watched Colin from Accounts (iPlayer), you must. The writing and acting are sublime. It will, however, make you want a Border Terrier.

Feels like 2016 — except now I’m in my 30s so the generalised sense of doom is accompanied by random hip pains and not sleeping well if I have more than two glasses of wine

This is a very good analysis generally, but its particular charm (for me anyway) is that Lord Sumption attacks the judgment on its own terms: trashing the majority's reading of legal history, principle and precedent.

The president’s crimes
The oldest constitution in the world was not made for the political culture of modern America. The Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v United States is a symptom of its crisis

Great discussion with @drhannahwhite.bsky.social who has also written extensively on many of the issues I cover in the book.
