New project out today! We used ChatGPT vision to help us identify animals on wine labels so we could find the best animal for your price point.

Follow along here for more details: 🧵
Have you ever bought a bottle of wine based on the label alone? Yeah, us too.

Turns out, if a wine has an animal on the label that can help you predict price and quality. We looked at thousands of labels to help you find the best deals.

New from @agwaterdesk.bsky.social:

🦆 How two centuries of alteration converted much the nation's wetlands into the nation’s corn belt – and how a 2023 SCOTUS decision might put what's left at risk.

This was published with support from the @startribune.com 🙏

My latest for @puddingviz.bsky.social with @luriethereal.bsky.social! A look at how sound is passed down over generations. 🔊 on!
New project (with 🔊🎵!) : @luriethereal.bsky.social explores legacies of music dna, such as a 2pac bassline being a sample of sample: two generations of music created by a James Brown riff.

Here's a little tool I built to design Flexoki 2.0. I wanted artistic control over ramping while still interpolating colors programmatically with Oklab.

In the future it could be used to create more hues and emulate watercolor pigment types within the Flexoki color space.

But also – this is my last project (and day) at @axios.com. I'll be moving over to Polygraph / @puddingviz.bsky.social.

The last few years have been incredible and it was an incredible opportunity to work with so many talented people. Here are a few my favorite projects I got to work on 🧵

First post! My latest from @visuals.axios.com: How a ransomware attack works

This was a fun project to build. Probably the most CSS animations I've forced into a single page ✨

🧵Okay let's do some BTS for Axios' elections #dataviz.

1/5: We used for our big maps, which means we had to do some tricks with color hashes to get interactivity.
