Ursula K Le Guin's "Being Gorgeous" exercise from Steering the Craft has always helped me get back into writing after periods of not. A good balance of freedom and intent, that asks you to basically show off.

My kid turned 1 a few days ago.

I think raising a human in a time like now -- when so much evil is happening out of our control, and our concept of what we can control is so brittle -- has helped.

The days are hard, even feel impossible, but every day you see a glimmer of something true and good.
