He’s right; the correction has significant implications and should travel as far and wide as the original claim. So, share this thread here, elsewhere, and in your various circles of influence.
I wanted to share some background on the recent correction to Hall & Thompson's 2018 paper. This correction has significant implications. The conventional wisdom that moderate candidates perform better in general elections is not supported by the data when properly analyzed.🧵

I get questioning the legality of Trump’s actions. But what I don’t get is how we moved past the 14th amendment question. Can insurrection hold the office and engage in lawlessness?

I truly enjoy that my students are comfortable coming to my office hours.

I am shocked that no one is asking how an insurrectionist (according to the Colorado court) is capable of holding office.
I am shocked at the number of people talking about how Trump’s executive orders are illegal as if that is a deterrent. I don’t even know how to wrap my mind around this.

Started this one last week. Quite readable for non-histories/academics.

Political parties consolidating power by identifying an out group as the cause of national problems and the political debates on what to do with the out groups rather than how to solve national problems. Seems to be the theme

Case like this make me wonder about ethical standards. I get zealous representation and challenging bad laws, but at what point is it unethical to bring a suit? Can the RNC’s lawyers be sanctioned?
NEW: A North Carolina judge rejected a GOP motion to toss out nearly 60,000 ballots cast in all November 2024 statewide races.

@strictscrutiny.bsky.social question: could Trump have been sentenced to a year in jail, invoke the 25th amendment, and resume the office after his sentence? Also, in general, if prosecution is incapacitating, shouldn’t the remedy be the 25th amendment, not non-prosecution?
