Yul Brynner's anti-smoking ad was filmed in Jan, 1985, 9 months before he died in October 1985. However, it didn't air on TV until after he died, starting Feb. 19, 1986. It featured his direct warning: "Now that I'm gone, I tell you: Don't smoke" @thatsadmirable.bsky.social @melrea.bsky.social

Turns out EYES WIDE SHUT (1999) is a true story. Not idle speculation or merely Kubrickian paranoia. That movie is about the catastrophic damage that happens when one merely 'brushes up against' the powerful. It's a terrible and ugly truth and we must face it collectively and courageously.
