Seems to me a couple things that could help stem the tide:
Before it is too late!
1. If there were a 'Navalny' in the US. A leader that had the ability to organize and mobilize the masses!!! I think there would be a massive following at this point and therein would lie an amazing amount of power.

In 2017 I gave the keynote speech, "The barometer of a free press", at the Canadian World Press Freedom luncheon in Ottawa. This was right after Trump was sworn in and he had already floated the idea that libel laws "needed to be looked at".
That threat is back.
