Turner has celebrity status in Edinburgh this month. Dublin watercolour collection attracting 1000s of people queuing for hours. Magnificent!😍. His 1834 oil was in RA beside contemporary, now forgotten, Scottish portraitist Christina Robertson. Last day for 99p e-book about her life. amzn.to/4f7o5ir

Another picture from the edge of Edinburgh’s Christmas market. Not my thing tbh but the lights are pretty. Behind my head the snow clouds are building for tomorrow!

Tree adds more drama to this Thai side Mekong view - gorgeous! 😎 Think there are 2 hornet nests in the tree though - SE Asian hornet experiences did not go well 😬 🐝

Singapore is a special place for me. We lived in Vietnam in the early 1990s when it was both beautiful and short on good hospital care. Lucky to deliver my first baby here 32 years ago. My soul is happy in 27 degrees at night. Love Asian food 🤩

Even on here you follow back some guy who doesn’t look like a BOT and they are straight to DMs. FFS this is a Scottish writing almost Grannie. I don’t want unsolicited help with my book and my interactions depend on you saying something interesting here 🤨 🙄

On the 1st of January, the #Curae prize for writer-carers opens for a second time. The demise of twitter is making it harder to get the word out, so do share! thecuraeprize.uk There are around 7 million unpaid carers in the UK alone & Curae shines a light on the role & much more. #carers #writing

I’ll finish my final edits on The Orchid Hunter’s Daughter this week. Send me patience to keep concentration right to the end. Itching to dive into the next book. Working title The Carnegie Girls. Do love research - suspect all #histfic authors must 😍
