saw people talking about trans lesbians vs straight trans women discourse earlier, and i just always think about this in the transgender issue by shon faye, referring to something rachel pollack and others wrote in the 70s:

i said it on twitter but everyone dunking on nancy mace and calling her a hypocrite for making pride posts a few years ago is missing the point of what she is doing. and her actions of being publicly transphobic but ok with gays is just standard quo for many if not most cis "allies"

If that resolution for a bathroom bill for the us capitol passes it’s only a matter of time before they do that shit in arizonas capitol. Which will be targeting literally just me. and like two lobbyists

A current state senator already stands outside the bathroom every time she sees me walk in

It always feels a little weird when authors like my reviews on goodreads bc what if I don’t like a future book of theirs I know they’re gonna read what i say now and I don’t wanna hurt feelings

I can't be mad at people putting together lists of new queer book releases but it's always a little disheartening to see a list of over 100 books coming out in a new month and literally none be about or featuring trans women

For the last year or so I haven't read much on KU outside of some established authors I already loved, so recently I've been trying to get back into it. but it feels like so much is just shitty AI now

KU has always been largely hit or miss but it feels like such a wasteland now

*extremely* telling that the NYT frames a family leaving a state because their trans son literally could not get the medical care he needed as a "politically motivated move" and an abstract "issue" rather than one connected to their child's intrinsic humanity www.nytimes.com/2023/10/07/u...

there's hardly room to complain bc so few trans books exist but for the ones that do i dont know why so many are supernatural or scifi books

i just want a contemporary romance with trans women

and if you want give suggestions, i'm down but i almost guarantee you i've read it already lol

Look I love Taylor Swift as much as any queer person who was alive in the 2010s but as a lifelong Denver Broncos fan I can’t explain how soul killing watching every online swiftie start to love the Chiefs
