We’ll have a statement up from @acadiacenter.bsky.social later today. Initial estimates suggest PA will miss out on ~$20B in revenues over the next 12 years by leaving RGGI. On top of billions more in foregone revenue by not participating in auctions since 2022. Huge misstep and lost opportunities.
I'm still unpacking this all, but it is perhaps even more significant that the PA budget also eliminated $300m that had previously been approved to save transit.

Ok apparently this is actually not widely known: Gov. Shapiro withdrew Pennsylvania from RGGI today as part of a deal to pass a now-4month overdue budget.

Does anyone on #EnergySky know if tariffs pre-NAFTA or any other period have been imposed on imports of *electricity* from Canada or Mexico? I’m guessing not since MWh are not a product in the same way as fuel commodities, but…better to be safe than sorry.
