Doing some interior research for our house rebuild. After leaving the umpteenth website because of another unclosable modal window, I'm struck by how normal it is for the Web to be unusable in 2025. I'm so used to suffering through this stuff now that I hardly even notice it.

December is the month where everything from music streaming services to smart toilets hit us with a "Wrapped," detailing our supposed habits of the year.
Personally, quantisation of these habits impacts my enjoyment; it stays back of mind as I otherwise enjoy music. Just let me be.

I'm trying to do side-project stuff in the evenings. It's getting colder and it's already dark after work now, which makes it kind of hard to find the energy.
I've taken to putting Ghibli movies on and sitting under a blanket in front of the TV while writing code.

As if cookie notices weren't bad enough, I can't seem to get away from this trash lately. And it's particularly egregious because it takes focus away from whatever other Web ai.0 bullshit has been ejaculated upon your screen.
