Born in Chicago, raised in Toronto, 40-year resident of Ottawa. I voted for Harris in '24, Biden in '20, HRC in '16 and Libs in '15, ‘19, ‘21 and ‘25. I mute idiots/trolls.
Politics has become America’s all-season sport. “Our team folded at the critical moment! The other side won!”

Get a grip, people. The game is being played on the backs of working people, not on grass, ice, hardwood floors or artificial turf. On. The. Backs. Of. People.

It’s interesting to note that the people who are most vociferous in their “hold the line” exhortations are comfortably ensconced in the middle class and not dependent on SNAP benefits, one paycheck from being evicted or losing their home, or about to lose their job.

I’m still getting real estate updates from Fort Myers Beach.

This illustrates the devastation. As well as the insane prices being demanded.

“As part of the deal, Democrats would get a vote on a pre-determined date on health insurance tax credits that they have long sought to extend.”

This is the important point. Dems will force Repubs to bote against health insurance tax credits.

Stay tuned, people.

Herein lies the strategy: Johnson forced to bring House in session, swear in Grijalva, vote on Epstein resolution.
“‘We will not support spending legislation advanced by Senate Republicans that fails to extend the [ACA] tax credits. Johnson will be compelled to end the seven week Republican taxpayer-funded vacation,’ Jeffries said.”

Johnson will have to bring the House back.

“He was a a racist and misogynist!”

So, we all know that the structure of DNA was only discovered in 1953, 72 years ago, but it still seems astounding that it wasn’t discovered earlier. 72 years ago is not that long ago, in the scope of human history.

RIP James Watson, great scientist.

Interesting that this little innocuous post raised so much ire.

The point I don’t think Americans grasp yet is that Canadians (and probably the rest of the world) are not pissed off at Trump and the GOP so much as we are at those ignorant voters in the swing states that voted for the asshole. How can we ever trust you again?🤔

This house listed for sale at $1M in July 2023.

Now $700k.

Unscientific observation: I subscribe to new real estate listings for the FMB area, although I would never buy any property there now in the Age of Trump™️. Noticed I get very few notices of new listings compared to previous years.
