Born in Chicago, raised in Toronto, 40-year resident of Ottawa. I voted for Harris in '24, Biden in '20, HRC in '16 and Libs in '15, ‘19, ‘21 and ‘25. I mute idiots/trolls.
That’s what I thought too.

I have the perfect candidate.

Bezo has shown himself to be unworthy of owning The Washington Post. Someone with integrity and business sense needs to step in and buy it from him.

Someone like MacKenzie Scott.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

The new Republican party slogan for 2026!
Blanche: It's not a crime to party with Mr. Epstein.

Republicans: “It’s not a crime to party with Mr. Epstein”.

Great slogan going into 2026 midterms, dudes. 🙄

In a way - a very small way - I feel sorry for these guys. Two Latinos brainwashed into arresting others who yearn to be free.

If they *are* the ones who shot Pretti they deserve to go to jail for their crimes. But you have to ask yourself: what did America do to make them into monsters?

Not only did the Conservatives lose the general election, but Mr. Poilievre lost the district he had represented for more than two decades.”

I guess calling the “district” Poilievre represented a “riding” would be too confusing for @nytimes.com readers. 🙄

“Canada’s main opposition leader, Pierre Poilievre, a populist sometimes compared to President Trump”

In the print edition, it reads:

“Canada’s main opposition leader, Pierre Poilievre, a populist inspired by President Trump”

No, PP is his own shit weasel.

“Putin won 87.8% of the vote, the highest ever result in Russia's post-Soviet history, according to an exit poll by pollster (FOM).”

Poilievre only got 87.4% of the conservative members votes.

PP still has a lot to learn about being an autocrat.

Well, we don’t know the ten co-defendants in the Epstein Files. So, there’s that.

Unlike the parliamentary system, the U.S. has no “opposition party”. There is only a party that controls the House, the Senate and the presidency.

The other party is a powerless party that is only able to try to impede the party in power, generally with little success.

As usual, Trump gets it wrong. 🙄

But World Cuo fans will still be welcomed with open arms in Canada (and Mexico).

Bonus: Canadian para-military forces won’t pluck you off the streets and detain you either.

This is North America. We are the frogs in the boiling pot. We don’t realize how quickly our society is deteriorating because the deterioration, like the temperature of the water, has been gradual.

One only has to get out of the pot and visit other countries to realize how bad it’s become.

This is bad news. A growing population creates jobs, as new migrants buy consumer goods, buy homes, pay taxes.

Low population growth means low economic growth and stagnation.
The [U.S,] population grew last year at one of the slowest rates in its history, according to … the Census Bureau. The immigration numbers plunged by more than 50 percent from the previous year, under the aggressive anti-immigration policies of President Trump.”
