Really enjoyed Dr Philippa Hardman’s session on AI for ID: the augenration (deeper analysis of impact) vs automation (reduction of content creation time) usage. We’re definitely in falling into the ‘content dumping’ trap we saw when rapid e-learning tools were all the rage. #LT25UK #T1S3

“L&D as a function might disappear if we don’t broaden our horizons. Why aren’t we thinking about knowledge management? Why are we so obsessed with creating content? We need to love the problems we’re trying to solve.” @amandanolen.bsky.social #T3S2 #LT25UK

Rolls Royce’s learning ecosystem … no LMS. “Don’t start with learning, start with the problem. Business leaders don’t care about ‘learning’ they care about performance. It’s a means to and end.” @amandanolen.bsky.social and Mary Glowacka #T3S2 #LT25UK

Lovely family lunch for my father-in-law’s 89+1, today.

Him: “So, what’ll we be doing for my 95th?”
Me: “Leaving flowers on your grave, hopefully.”

Went for a big walk today and caught up with the last few episodes of @thetrawl.bsky.social. Wonderfully entertaining, as always. But it struck me, if they didn’t say “someone called” I’d probably have a month of my life back from these past few years. I think we can assume that’s their name. 😉

On train from London to Birmingham. The carriage is practically empty despite just about every seat showing as reserved.

Either the booking system has buggered it up, or no one has told me about some serious “Final Destination” shit that’s about to happen …

On my way to London for work. Now, I’m used to chatty/annoying taxi drivers … but getting his phone out at just about every red stop to show me pictures of his family, him as a chef, where he used to work etc…. that’s ‘extra’!

I work for a company where most of my colleagues are a good twenty years or more younger than me. Last night was our Xmas night out. I tried to keep up.

Today is going to be a loooooooooooooong day! For the love of god ...

Christ. Sat at Charles de Gaulle waiting boarding to come home. It’s late, place is mobbed and roasting. There’s a public piano and some bugger’s thumping away at the ivories thinking he’s Liber-buckin-ace!

I’m not the only one dreaming that they’d a mallet to hand right now …
