Today, we honor the victims of the 1994 genocide in #Rwanda by calling upon states to uphold their #R2P populations at risk of atrocities today.

As we also mark #R2P20 this year, we remind states that R2P provides a framework for prevention and response to these atrocities.

I continue to be appalled at the lack of accountability around the SLAPP case that targeted me. If I can get sued for saying a warlord sanctioned by the EU, UK, and US for his role in Wagner is involved with Wagner then can we really say there's any protection for journalists in the UK from SLAPPs?

#UK police received 1st report that Mugambe was holding a "slave" in Feb '23.

Mugambe got a visa for the young woman, alleging she'd be paid/employed by the #Uganda Embassy's Deputy High Commissioner, but picked her up from airport & drove her to Oxfordshire, forcing her to work as a nanny & maid.
Lydia Mugambe, appointed as a judge to the #UN’s residual mechanism for the #ICTR and #ICTY in 2023, has been convicted in a #UK court of breaching immigration law by keeping a young 🇺🇬 woman “slave” in her house, forcing her to work as a maid.
