I now have the Power Rangers characters I’ve wanted figures of since 1993.

Finally, thanks to Super7 and their insane deep diving into the licenses they get, Bulk and Skull get the appreciation they deserve.

I can now die happy.

(Many, many years from now.

Many.)

Alright Baldur’s Gate 3.

Let’s see how you can ruin my productivity for a bit.

Yes! My favourite digital exclusive comic on Marvel Unlimited is back! Wooooo!

It’s Jeff by @kellythompson.bsky.social and Gurihiru

More Jeff is always more gooder! I swear this adorable series has genuinely become my favourite thing Marvel puts out. It’s also required bedtime reading for my kids

First look at the 49th Super Sentai team, No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger.

Initial colour make up is Red, Black, Blue, Green, Yellow.

I’m definitely intrigued by the suit designs. Looking forward to seeing the full suits more clearly.

This week I’ve finally gotten around to watching beyond season 1 of Locke & Key.

Just started season 3 last night and enjoying it immensely. And now I have the strong urge to go back and re-read the comic again because I adore the hell out of that series.

Anyone who knows me knows I love to bitch. Mostly just to be funny.

But! Anyone who doesn’t know me could see that and think I’m being serious. And there’s too much negativity out there.

So gonna try emphasise the things I love. Doesn’t mean I won’t critique but gonna try focus on the good.

As a toy collector, you’d think getting a super impressive Optimus Prime, or screen accurate Megazord or funny as hell obscure comic character something would be the figure that would most excite me.

Nope.

It’s at long last getting a figure of Bulk (with Skull soon to arrive).

(5) Keep in mind, those were the ideas of a guy who barely did any indie comic writing, had no contacts, and definitely didn’t have the skill to write on a main publisher level.

I can barely write on a “writing a shopping list” level 🤣

Just random ideas when I can’t sleep that occasionally return

(4) in that area.

The early to late 2000s touched on this now and then too, with books centred on the Daily Bugle, The Pulse, and Front Line reporters. But they were always short runs, and mostly heavily tied into massive events.

I’d just love to see a line that shows the human perspective more.

(3) thought about writing comics about was an expanded version of the Code BLUE concept, with the other emergency services having their own units too, rather than Damage Control always being the ones thrown into a story to deal with super problems.

I always felt like there was untapped potential…

(2) In the 90s there was a Thor spinoff called Code BLUE which was about an NYPD unit specially created to deal with super crime in NYC. It didn’t last long and mostly disappeared but I’d have loved more about them.

One of the few Marvel ideas I considered pitching yeeeears ago when I briefly…

(1) Every so often, like any fan I get asked by another fan what I would like to see in the comics I enjoy, in my case Marvel.

And I love the look of surprise when my answer is never superhero related.

For me I’d love books about the regular people in the MU. Not something like SHIELD either…

I think Gail is on to something…
They should make a video game out of The Last Of Us, that would be so cool

Average person gets a new big screen tv, they watch some big budget SFX heavy movie they love to really appreciate it.

Then there’s me…

After almost 2 years and 42 combined seasons, my big Tokusatsu marathon has reached the 90s.

Just started Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman (not bad), so getting really close to the seasons that were adapted for Power Rangers.

For the last year or so I’ve barely been able to read maybe 10 or 15 comics a week. On a good week, I would manage about 25.

In the last 5 days I’ve read 65 (first time re-reading World War Hulk, actually).

It’s nice to have my focus back enough that I can chill out with my main hobby again.

Just hit me, I’ve been doing my Marvel Read Through project for almost 10 years now.

Started New Years Day 2015 with Fantastic Four #1 from 1961, and tonight just finished World War Hulk which came out 2007.

I know my reading took a hit this year but still… such a fun (insane) project to attempt

My wee ones are becoming little geeks in their own rights, which makes me happy, for sure.

But the fact that my youngest, who is 3, adores the theme music for shows I loved as much as I do gives me an extra bit of a jolt of glee whenever he starts going insane and dancing to whatever I’m watching.

Woke up to the news that Tony Todd has passed away. For a man with such distinctive voice who went on to play & voice so many badass and terrifying characters, for me my favourite role will always be the adult Jake Sisko from DS9.

Such a sad, sweet role from someone known as a master of horror.

The current linewide relaunch of the X-Books have been pretty consistently fun. It’s been the closest I’ve felt to how the books felt when I started reading as a kid.

Uncanny X-Men by Gail Simone and David Marquez though, is easily the highlight. This cover channels the Claremont era beautifully.
November 8, 2024 at 7:11 AM
There isn’t much I can do for those I care about who are terrified and live half a world away, but be there for them when they need it, and otherwise be a monumental silly goose to cheer them up.

Honk!

Next on the “I need to get back to the things I enjoy” checklist: colouring!

Maybe the odd bit of writing and editing. Not like I used to, but something.

Pooooosibly finally get off my ass and get back to trying voice acting, but that one always seems like catastrophe occurs when I try😂
