Like if we went 10 years with 0 murders on the planet then one person was murdered, it's obvious that would be a huge story worthy of a disproportionate amount of coverage.
Okay so one element of newsworthiness is novelty, meaning if something happens to lots of people every single day it's not necessarily worth covering every time. This is why homicides and terrorism are more newsworthy than heart attacks and cancer.

Pokemon Legends Z-A’s Lumiose City is too much of a flat wallpaper for me to enjoy. 2.5 stars.

i rewatched The Abyss last night and it's so frustrating how good James Cameron is at making "big" movies with huge stakes and timeless SFX sequences that still have fundamentally "human" relationships tying everything together narratively... and now he's hyping AI in Hollywood SFX? c'mon
