Honestly, it's an acceleration for ICE, but the racial profiling, the weird treating people like meat, the checkpoints, all that is straight up normal day CBP in the SW border in my experience. Ramped up to sending death squads into cities instead of only at the border.

A photo I’ve never shared before from the Aurora Borealis on October 10th, 2024. This is a two image composite, one exposed for the sky and one for the foreground. I fired the shutter and I drove the car too. Good times during a rare night out in the Arizona desert.

If there’s one thing that photos don’t do justice, it’s meteors. IRL it’s like “Oh! There’s one!” but in the photo it just looks like a little lens scratch 🤷‍♂️ but anyway, here’s my best effort from the Geminids on Saturday night.

That one time I went comet hunting and the clouds hid the comet but put on a great sunset.

On a stormy day with much more structure and precip than bolts, I managed to catch this wild lightning strike northwest of Phoenix on Tuesday evening.

A refresh of one of my favorite lightning images of this past summer. Two big bolts touching down in Arizona’s Verde Valley on the evening of August 15th.

Three photos I made of the Aurora Borealis last night near Wickenburg, Arizona. It wasn’t quite as bright to the naked eye, but it was by far the brightest and most vibrant I’ve seen here in AZ.

Moonrise over the Sonoran Desert two nights ago. This is a favorite Saguaro of mine and I fear that the land it occupies will soon fall victim to the cancerous growth of the Phoenix suburbs.
