A sad compelling tale of a widower searching for answers to his wife's suicide. A dull start but the book eventually grips. Simenon is known for his pulp detective novels. I look forward to reading one soon. (Awkward translation in the alt text).

Please stop with the Colombian guerillas (or any Latin American guerillas) and their supposed "socialist" cause to defend Colombia and its allies. They have no cause, but to steal from and kill campesinos (some who were my family) who are their main sources of income (if it isn't also the CIA).
