We just finished Celine Song's PAST LIVES. When a story (a film), leaves you confirming the good in your quiet little life, it opens up an incredible thing. That big world feeling of wonder and here and now permanence of it.
Sorry gonna go bury my face in my cat or my boyfriend. Such a good film.

I was 13 when I first read Shelley's Frankenstein. Hungry for more I took out this book from the library. Frankenstein Diaries by The Rev. Hubert Venables. Highly recommend it as the illustrations in the del Toro movie reminded me of it. graphicinterventions.blogspot.com/2007/08/fran...

Saw del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN. It was beautiful. Made by someone who truly loved the book & Shelley's accomplishment. My fave scene was when the abused Monster is treated with kindness for the 1st time by Elizabeth (the embodiment of Shelley). Percy & Byron literary inclusions were most appropriate.

Yesterday was Bram Stoker’s 178th birthday! 🎂 Author of THE LADY OF THE SHROUD, THE LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM, and, of course, the iconic DRACULA. 🧛

Paid a visit to the Colombian consulate. Grabbed an arepa from Manatos at Union Station, and found manzana flavoured Postobon on the way home. I haven't had one in decades. Teniendo un dia tan sabroso.

Reading Starve Arce (Hurley is my fave since The Loney. British folk horror ftw) and then watching life affirming LIFE OF CHUCK today was a whirlwind of emotions. All good.

That last line caught me on many a relatable thing. Great writing with heart.
