My mom passed away when she was 55 (i was in my early 20s) and my dad passed about 6 years ago when he was in his mid 70s. There are times that I wish I had to deal with aging parents. #bfc530

My students made s'mores in their solar ovens. Fun build for an otherwise stressful week for them. I wasn't testing so my personal win is that I got all of my stuff ready for end of year. Posted and copied. Except exams but I will have that done today #bfc530

I have a bat made from a pinecone that a student hung off of my board

If I have lunch it's usually leftovers. I have lunchroom duty 4 days a week which cuts my actual lunchtime to 15 minutes. So I end up snacking during my earlier planning period on protein bars or hummus and then grabbing fast food after school on the way home. Terrible habit. #bfc530

I went to college with the plan of getting my PhD in biochemistry or some similar field. Coming from a family of teachers, education was the LAST thing I wanted to do. I was actually in my PhD program, but wasn't jiving with the lab situation. And then my mom died. And priorities shifted. #bfc530

Today my students were supposed to take a certification exam. Today I found out that none of the computers we were using actually had the exam on it.

Oh boy. Most state testing doesn't impact my classes much, aside from scheduling things. But I do try to get my pre-engineering Ss certified in a CAD software and that has been incredibly stressful since covid. We are testing today and I have a headache and can't sleep. #bfc530

While I stopped using Twitter a few years ago, I also wanted to get away from the ad driven mess that is Facebook. A bunch of friends posted there about moving here, so I followed.
And am now really the only one who posts here.

Those moments of joy are getting harder to find this year (or maybe i REALLY need a break), but having a student who consistently fails tests get a C on their last one definitely brought me some happiness. #bfc530

Having weird problems logging into #infinitynikki so I contact customer service. They give me sone things to try but tell me if it persists to get the logs from the game... like how?
