We need to keep talking about how weird it is for people to think they should have a say in reading choices for anyone's kids but their own. You're not in charge of what other people's children eat or wear or when they go to bed. Why on earth would you get to choose what they read?

to team Howland! I spotted her spooky MG eco horror during a pitch contest and her manuscript didn’t disappoint. She has such an incredible voice for MG readers and her story had so much mind blowing depth. Im thrilled to work with her!

One of my fave plotting methods is the Sticky Note method that I learned at a workshop taught by David Macinnis Gill. I've used it for every novel that sold & now there's a craft book about it! I've tweaked the method to work for me (a pantster), but I swear by it! www.stickynoteplot.com/snpbp

Excellent guest post by Shannon Messenger on the slow burn of Keeper of the Lost Cities. It’s absolutely my favorite #mglit series…To hear about its humble beginnings is shocking but so inspiring!✨ teenlibrariantoolbox.com/2024/11/20/s...

A writer’s vibe may be calm and serene on the outside. We think up stories. We write words. But on the inside our minds are swirling all the time, creating a universe, building a giant puzzle, being a puppet master. It’s a fun, sneaky life! #mglit #kidlit #writingcommunity

Pouring my heart and soul into this manuscript is one thing. Sifting out a few sentences that describe it for a longline or query? That’s next level brain-bending. #writingcommunity

Rereading my manuscript today and thinking of new ways to get my characters into trouble. Send them to a forbidden, misty, underworld market? Okay. 🤷‍♀️ Lock them inside with Alice in Wonderland-inspired creatures? Absolutely. 💫
