People mix up "sex" and "gender" all of the time, and use them interchangeably. Here's the difference. Sex refers to the biological sex of a person, their anatomy and their hormones. Sex cannot be changed. Gender has no biological basis and is socially constructed.

Okay, I did it. I emailed the Minister of Education in Ontario to tell them how the mandated math proficiency test is discriminatory towards teachers who have no intention to ever teach math, teachers with learning disabilities and teachers whose first language is not English. Here's what I said.
