My favorite recent example of devs taking real artistic risk is 1000xRESIST, a game which presents you the sentence "Hekki ALLMO blue to red/Mask and bunker shield our head" without explanation or apology. What a brilliant game.
I’m begging game developers to take more risks in gaming. Give us cheesy, give us cringe, give us comedy, give us emotion. Give us all that you can. We can definitely tell when a developer puts their heart & soul into a game, but also doesn’t take things too seriously & makes sure it’s fun too. IJS!

The weird hill I will die on is that FUN's first album, Aim and Ignite, is actually quite good, and the only reason they're remembered as one of the most annoying bands of the early 2010s is because of Some Nights (the song not the album, the rest of the album is mostly fine too).

I am utterly convinced that our parents didn't sit on the floor with us enough as kids. Just....sitting on the floor and handling our emotions together. It's so much better than any other way I've found of dealing with hard emotions, and it's SO EASY.

I remember when I went to see the first H*rry P*tter movie back in 2001, and there was a guy probably in his late teens/early 20s sitting a few rows ahead of us in this mostly-empty theater.
He had brought his copy of the book and was furiously flipping through it as the movie progressed, scowling.
