I just finished listening to the new Frost Children album and I honestly have nothing good to say.
The whole thing feels hollow and cheap. They succeeded in capturing the feeling and aesthetic of late 00s-early 10s pop, but only the worst parts. It reeks of plastic and bullshit.

I've been watching Ugly Betty and I can't even imagine how truly horrible the online discourse about this show would be if it was airing today.

Also wow this show is amazing and I feel like I am exact target audience of this show.

I'm going to be honest, what Heather McPherson did today by giving those healthcare workers a platform to speak of the horrors they witnessed is the first thing to give me any hope that NDP might be able to regain my trust and actually be the progressive party they claim to be.

After tonight's episode, I definitely think Juno Dawson deserves to be considered next time Doctor Who needs a showrunner.
I think making the episode's main thesis be "no matter what you think of what another person has done, your grandchildren will be ashamed to see the violence you've committed"

I think tonight's episode of The Rehearsal is a great reminder to women everywhere that if you're going to date nerd boys you have to be prepared for them to miss even the most obvious of hints. You WILL have to either make the first move or tell them to do the thing (in the cleareet way possible).

It's somehow both hilarious and extremely on brand that Nathan Fielder didn't know what the Stanislavski method is.

I have to imagine that Russell T. Davies has some really good dirt on some Disney executives because I don't know how else he's getting his scripts approved by the company that's too afraid to make live-action Hunchback because they think it's too politically risky.

If Doctor Who keeps sneaking in Kylie Minogue references I need them to either bring back Astrid or make Kylie Minogue the Sixteenth Doctor.

Hey @ndp.ca,
I have voted NDP in every single election that has happened since I turned 18. The decisions you've been making since this election began are baffling and disappointing. On top of running a campaign based on bashing opponents and only talking about your most boring, centrist policies,

I fully support the SAG-AFTRA strike.

They have every right to be mad. Taking the job of someone who was fired for respecting a picket line is scabbing. It is a complete and total betrayal of his colleagues to have taken that job.

There is no justification for crossing picket lines or scabbing.

Don't forget, today is international bisexual trans women with amnesia awareness day.

Why is it that any time I do math before noon it ends up being depressing?
(I just calculated the amount of streams a musician on a 15% deal with 150k advance would need just to break even and the amount of money labels are making off unpaid labour is extremely depressing)

Hey BlackBerry, you should probably close your US office and reopen your mobile division because if you released BlackBerry 11, I'm pretty sure you could make a ton of money off of people who don't want an American OS on their phone.

Seriously, I'm losing all trust in Apple and Google.

I would like to thank Ontario's groundhogs for deciding we'd be the only province in the country getting an early spring.

The misinformation on social media is so rampant.
This is clearly a picture of Björk at the 2001 Oscars Red Carpet.

Even if you aren't a big Star Trek fan, I recommend watching Section 31. While you might miss a few references and Easter eggs, most of the characters and locations are new and all you really need to know is that there's a parallel universe where humans become an evil fascist empire.

I finally got the chance to read Ducks (it took me months to find a copy because it was always sold out everywhere) and it's truly an amazing piece of literature.
I strongly recommend it. It's truly brilliant and deeply nuanced and painfully poignant.

Me: sits down to start reading a book for a half hour before bed.
Me, two hours later: oops I accidentally finished the book.

Everyone getting mad at Grimes for not saying anything about Elon Musk is truly ridiculous.
- Grimes isn't responsible for Elon Musk or his actions
- They aren't even in a relationship anymore
- The reason she isn't saying anything is probably because she's worried about being sued

Hey Americans, if you want us to take your threats seriously, I'm going to need you to stop acting like a cheaply made parody movie directed by a guy who really loves Mel Brooks movies despite really not understanding them or why they were good.

This is honestly just sad and pathetic.

My pitch for an X-Men storyline: Stacy X and friends start a nonprofit that actually does things to help the most vulnerable and marginalised mutants. She actively works to help them access housing, healthcare, safety, legal aide, etc.
And it starts making everyone look real bad.

I've gotten multiple DMs on multiple platforms in the past 24 hours trying to rope me into crypto schemes and let me make it extremely clear:

I think crypto should be illegal.
I think NFTs should be illegal.
I think the blockchain should be extremely heavily regulated and almost never used.

The overpromotion of STEM was one of the worst things to ever happen to education. It didn't make people like science and math more, it just made them think that arts and humanities weren't important and were somehow easier, lesser fields of learning.
The really annoying and gross part of it is that it implies that people who specialise in arts/culture promotion have don't have specialised skills, education, or experience. They're flat out saying they think anyone could do it just as well without training.

Just finished watching The Sticky and why the fuck is a "miniseries" ending on a cliffhanger that isn't even remotely a natural end point for a season? It really feels like there was supposed to be another 2-4 episodes to it.

I will say that there is one studio I think could make an extremely successful and critically beloved Star Trek game and it's Larian.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a lovingly made game that was built to force you to make difficult decisions, find creative solutions, and face consequences.
I think it's something really hard to get right in video games - a core part of Star Trek is being put in unwinnable situations but still trying to live up to the values of the franchise. A lot of game genres aren't great for that and the ones that are aren't always the most popular.
