Some painting success for this #nerdling.

Master Percival of the 7th Company (known as Percy due to the limited skills of the artificer painting names on their armour) and interrogator chaplain Bedevire (nearly based).

Thanks to @dawnellenhodgson.bsky.social for naming Percy!
Master Percival is a kitbashed aggressor captain in bone white armour with a large power sword in their right hand. They stand on a lace themed base and are resting the tip of the sword on a rock. Interrogator Chaplain Bedevire is standing atop a black rock on an unfinished lava base. They wear aggressor armour and have a long handled Crozius Arcanum in the right hand. From their backpack a brightly coloured banner with black trim is hanging from a cross pole. They have a lurid scar across their right eye and an artificial left hand. This is a marine who has seen some serious action.

Little bit more work on some dark angels this week. Got one more big question now.

What am I going to try and do with the chaplain’s back banner?

There’s kudos available if you can work out which kit the feathers on the master are from.

It’s been a bitty weekend for painting. But I picked up the brushes and made a little tiny bit more progress on my @weprintminiatures.com pile. This one is fun to experiment on.

OK... so bear with me... Last week @andycruns.bsky.social showed us a short story, and I loved it... and it finally pushed me into writing a story that had been bubbling in my head for a while.

I enjoyed writing it, but I'm a bit nervous about showing my writing to others. Anyway, hope you like it.

My last post notwithstanding, the person I'm most excited to have met today was @madelinedyer.bsky.social, who was so interesting to talk to about writing and her books that I bought one series on the spot.

Finding someone who deliberately writes LGBTQIA+ fiction is always joyful.

So, today at Comic-Con in sunny Plymouth I had the joy of meeting Danny John Jules and continuing my ever expanding collection of Red Dwarf autographs. He was charming, funny and late, so I feel some connection there on one ground at least.

Statue adventures continue!

Today I’ve been working on creating an aged lichen effect on one statue whilst trying to push how clean the new statue looks.

I think it’s working.

Why yes, that is a @roll1toexplode.bsky.social sticker on top of my wet palette, thanks for noticing.

And with that, I think I’m just about ready to call my first two statues from @roll1toexplode.bsky.social done.

I’m really glad I took the chance for some experimenting and I’m proud of the effects that I got on the aged statue.

Both were a joy to paint and I love the sculpts 10/10

Ok, I know it’s been longer than originally planned and I achieved no streams this week, sorry. However work is continuing very slowly on the first two statues from @roll1toexplode.bsky.social store.

One in bright brass and the other in what is going to be verdigris’d brass.

Treated myself the other day to some scatter terrain.

Bought these four statues from @roll1toexplode.bsky.social webstore and they arrived this morning.

They’re great, and I’m looking forward to painting them.

Ok, I admit it, this time I completely lucked out! The first 10 pull after winning the 50/50 Yuzuha, I thought I'd start driving the numbers down before Alice releases and took a punt at Miyabi, because she's awesome!

Enough said, I really lucked out!

Well, it's felt touch and go at times, but I can now happily report that unlike some previous S rank events, I got the lucky pull today and Yuzuha has opted to join my team... which is great, because I needed a physical specialist support.

Ok, so if you see me on Twitch you know I play Zenless Zone Zero, they just released Chapter 2.2 this week and the new characters are cute, their interactions are cute.

But their storyline goes hard, and I'm absolutely here for it.
