40 years ago, Sussex Professor the late Sir Harry Kroto FRS made one of the most important scientific discoveries of the 20th century: C60, or Buckminsterfullerene. The breakthrough won the 1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, with his legacy living on across the world and at Sussex.
