I’ll write a few words on one and think “this isn’t good enough” or “I should be writing a different one” so I move on to the next and the next and then repeat until I don’t want to write anymore. UGHH. 😩

VOIDWALKER is a story about necromancy (but really it is just about driving places and being angsty and gay while doing so)

Where the orange of headlights and the rush of a murderous high had obscured his vision before, now there was clarity. Broken, was Vincent’s first thought, broken beyond repair. Vincent knew what that looked like. This man, though different in flesh and bone, was a deeply unsettling mimicry.

Definitely Mike Flanagan’s recent work. I love that character development never takes a backseat to the horror in his projects.

Also, Midnight Mass’s use of religious trauma—incorporating real world horror into fictional horror is always something I try to do in my writing
