“Reason is the natural order of truth; but imagination is the organ of meaning” - C.S. Lewis
You ever look at something you’re doing a say, “I’m just not getting anywhere with this.” Seems that most of us, myself included, have a hard time starting out small. It feels like you’re getting nowhere and everyone is so far ahead of you.

Keep going!

This has been a weekend. Honestly just going through it right now. Don’t really see an end in sight and I’d be lying if I said anxiety wasn’t getting the better of me.

There seems to be some confusion, so gonna put this out there explicitly. If anyone’s a nationalist, racist, fascist, Nazi, etc. I don’t want you here. I believe in Jesus, democracy, human rights, LGBT rights, egalitarianism, and separation of church and state. Please follow someone else.

Hot take 🔥: Saving people is God’s goal, not ours. The point of having a relationship with Christ isn’t being saved. That’s a byproduct.

You don’t have relationships b/c of what can be done for you; they’re b/c of who that person is. He’s creator, restorer, truth, and justice. #biblestudy

A little off brand, but when did Sabrina Carpenter drop like 82 different Christmas singles?

While we’re taking stock of what we’re #grateful for today, think about how we can bless others in the day to day. Happy Thanksgiving! #scripture

Bad day today. It’s hard to keep perspective when your circumstances make you feel that you’re less than. When you’re dealing with a bad day, what do you find helpful?

Rather than my usual, reading up on American political history tonight! Will post the book when finished.

Just as Jesus & the apostles encouraged us, it’s the church’s duty to be informed & civically responsible; so that we aren’t “tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching…”

Morning fam! Ever think about how Jesus was always authentic? Even when he knew he’d be killed, he never diminished himself to placate other people.

Be your authentic self today. After all, how can you love others if you can’t love you?

Thinking on standing for vs standing against things. Says a bit about you when most of what you put out to the world is in opposition to something, rather than affirmation of what you stand for. To that end, doing some soul searching and rebranding! #scripture

Ugh. Colds suck! Now I’m gonna have this cough for weeks 😭

Reading tonight from John 15 and “fruit” is the name of the game. Fruit shows that you’re connected with Jesus and some who look like they’re connected to Jesus just aren’t. You can tell by the fruit.

Take a look at what fruit you’re leaving behind.

Just finished this! Exceptionally informative book sounding a call for Christians to stand with democracy and against xenophobic, homophobic, and political authoritarianism in the world today.

Here’s an interesting 1. John 12:47-48. “If anyone hears my words & doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world… The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”

Commit yourself to God, not policing the conduct of everyone around

“We must do the works of him who sent me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.”
‭‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭4‬

The time we have is limited. Use it for things that matter. Check in with your kids, call your family, dance with your wife in the kitchen. Don’t leave things for tomorrow.

If you’ve got kids and have never cleaned under your couch, don’t. Sometimes, it’s better to just not know. 🤮

Still reading thru John. 7:18 rly stands out.

“The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him.”

Makes me reflect on my motives, but also shines a light on a lot of ppl “speaking 4 God” rn.

You ever leave work and feel like melting into a puddle, but the cold wind from hell freezing over just makes that impossible? Very today vibes.
November 15, 2024 at 4:12 AM
Reading thru John rn. Feels like 3:19 is particularly relevant atm.

“… the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.”

Jesus has no place in Christian nationalism. #bible

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. …those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
