St. Ambrose, pray for us.
A photo of the Pope blessing an ancient block of glacier ice has upset some religious folks who say his call for integral ecology is ignoring "more important things."

What is the relationship between conversion & stewardship of God's Creation?

It's Friday night and I'm taking requests --prayer requests!

Feel free to drop yours (vague is fine), and I'll be happy to pray for you.

Most climate denial falls into one of five general categories:

It’s not real
It’s not us
It’s not bad
We can’t fix it
It’s too late

Conspiracy theories about secret experiments have been around for decades and they fall solidly into category 2 above: “it’s not us, it’s THEM”

I just started listening to the KTOTV.com Rosary podcast from Lourdes (in French). Can anyone explain why they don't include the Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen)?

Catholic influencers are saying it's sinful to break the law.

From the Catechism: "The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel."

Imagine that your godfather becomes the Pope 😲

That's what happened to Mildred!!

She was named after Pope Leo XIV's late mother. Now she's grown with two children, and has a great devotion to John Paul II. What a blessing; her godfather now holds the same office as JPII!

I've been so tired for the last week or so battling the flu that I've hit the point of crying every day

The good thing about it, though, is reminding me of a beautiful teaching from Pope Francis which he passed on from the saints; "the gift of tears."

When we find ourselves weeping, we can grow.

The 10th Anniversary of #LaudatoSi is approaching.
I hope the universal Church will continue to learn from the wisdom of indigenous cultures. To combat the evils of modernity, we need to rediscover our identity as members of God's Creation, and as all relatives.

The Augustinian cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected Pope Leo XIV, the first American pontiff in history—and, according to genealogists, the first of African ancestry since the fifth century.

With evil so apparent in the world, what an encouragement to receive Pope Leo XVI to follow Leo XIII who wrote the St. Michael prayer against evil -- on the feast of Our Lady of Pompeii (whose shrine was rebuilt by a former Satanic priest) and anniversary of St. Michael's apparition.

If you love anyone who rents, write your representative now.
Proponents of the legislation say it's necessary to ensure landlords can regain possession of their property faster. Tenant advocates warn these bills could strip renters of legal rights in a state where they currently have few.

In case anyone is wondering...

For a Catholic, grieving a Pope is not exactly like grieving a close family member, but it can be similar. The word Pope literally comes from Papa; a father or grandfather figure.

I've personally found that the tears hit me at times both expected & unexpected.
