Remember that this latest MAGA administration officially began on MLK Day. Let King's legacy be the one that overshadows Trump and propels us forward.

The US State Department is now going to be deporting people and/or revoking visas over Benz, Taibbi, and Shellenberger’s “censorship industrial complex” hoax.

Let that sink in. This is what the Twitter Files pretext was actually about. Water boys for authoritarians.

A thread of how to say “nobody asked you” from around the world, starting with this one…

This is typical for an admin that rarely thinks through the downstream effects of their policies. 🍎
One under-appreciated part of this: note the bit below about “and their dependents.”

Under the Trump admin’s new policy, dependent children of visa applicants are not allowed to have their social media set to private during the entire visa process. They MUST make their social media public.

🍎📚 #earlychildhood This of list of words the US govt has banned is laughable. (I actually laughed out loud at gems like: equal opportunity, belong, expression, pronoun, female & woman. Men/male are apparently okay). This feels like satire, but please don't take it as a joke. It's deadly serious.
According to a new court filing, the Trump administration has a six-page list of banned words that Head Start locations are forbidden from using when describing their programs.
Among the censored words: "disability," "race," "women," "trauma," "Gulf of Mexico." Short thread with the full list. 🧵

This stat would make an awesome discussion prompt for upper elementary and middle school students. Let's stop telling them what they think and model critical thinking by asking them what they think and what their evidence is!
