I've been playing Black Tabby Games' Scarlet Hollow, and man they just nail immersion so hard. While the ambience of the various scenes are pretty well done, one in particular sticks to my mind, and it's the sound of silence.

Ever since, we've wanted to capture the ephemeral images in our mind, from cave paintings to today's modern AAA video games back to cave paintings but with lead and paper.
Some did it out of logistical necessity.

I've been slowly realizing how much math, music, and programming are pretty much actual wizardry it's insane
I only have a little specced in art magic and I'm but a lowly apprentice at that
If only people actually wore hats and robes and made it aesthetically mystical it'd be more appealing

It's always sad seeing AAA games aiming to deliver (admittedly) impressive tech that'll get pretty dated as the years go by vs delivering refined and compelling gameplay that'll stand the test of time
But I guess that's what indies are for now
