Gamification killed school. It should not be possible to "fail" at education. School does not feel like a place of learning, it feels like fighting for your fucking life. Teachers are antagonists. You score points. You make calls about which assignments you can skip. It's war, not learning.

Speed limits are largely decided by the average speed people naturally feel like driving on a given road. If the government trusts us to drive a car, why can't they trust us to decide an appropriate speed while driving? Ticketing people for driving faster than average is literally highway robbery.
