Slept in, observed Remembrance Day, and took the mutts for a walk. Jackson enjoyed a dip on this balmy 12° day. People are always amazed by his winter dips. This is nothing for him. On our way home we were flagged down by a dog mom who sent us home with a bag of freshly baked muffins. So nice!

I have a rain playlist for bedtime. Guess I won’t need it tonight. Home, soaked, and grateful to have a roof over my head (and wet dogs to share my bed with).

First full day off in four weeks and I’m enjoying all the furry snuggles

That was a COLD walk with the dogs. Got the extra comforter and heating pad out. Hibernation sounds really good in November 🥶

Pardon the language but this is pretty much how my day started. Jackson doesn’t care what we call it. Breakfast time is breakfast time. #doglife

We pulled off a great surprise party for my youngest tonight. Tomorrow she’ll be 25. To see her surrounded by so much love makes this momma’s heart very happy.

What. A. Night. Thanks to everyone who participated in Drag Me to Church! Performers, vendors, volunteers and staff made this a wonderful event. @msvugraduate.bsky.social put in SO much time and @michellemccann.bsky.social did great work with comms. More photos to come!

Traffic is at a standstill on Mumford Road. No idea why but we haven’t moved in 15 min. There was a car accident close to Chebucto but it’s backed up well past the mall. Anyone have eyes on the cause? #halisky #halifax

Pretty walk to the bus this morning. The cooler but not cold autumn mornings are so lovely.

Diwali fireworks are freaking the dogs out. We all enjoyed the reprieve during the fire ban.

I spent the day in Mahone Bay at a retreat and stopped a couple of times on the drive home. The colours are beautiful this year. #autumn #novascotia #photography

Today I helped my youngest move for the fifth time in five years. I really hope this place works out for her for a while! My aching body would like to avoid another day like this one

ADHD is not a modern invention, nor a behavioral choice — it’s a neurodevelopmental condition with strong genetic and neurobiological foundations. This October, let’s turn awareness into acceptance, access, understanding, and support for brains that operate on different rhythms.

If you need portrait photography done for any purpose, I can heartily recommend @indigoclarke.bsky.social ! She did my final professional academic photoshoot (my last one was pretty out of date) in September at the waterfront, and I got my final photos back today. I'm so pleased!

Some highlights from today in #Halifax: beautiful colours at Point Pleasant Park where we ran into my granddog Azzie and my bonus daughter; and a curry-coconut milk bok choy and dumpling bake tonight. I ran out of gyoza so tossed udon noodles in. It was spicy but so good! #thankful

A handful of pics from Saturday’s trip to the Valley: Benjamin Bridge, Daniel’s U-Pick, a dirt road near Ettinger Falls with my partner and her daughter, and a stop at Grand Pré for a mini photoshoot with my daughter and her boyfriend. Happy Thanksgiving! #NovaScotia #photography #autumn

Don’t go chasing waterfalls (in a drought)… A beautiful day to pick apples and hike to a waterfall even if the water was barely there. I’ve never seen it so dry!

I knew when I saw @justip.bsky.social post about the Dairy Bar special, I’d need to get there before they changed the weekly special. So glad I did. Grandma’s Hands: ginger soft serve, biscoff cookies and molasses. A true power lunch. My gut will hate me for a few days but it was worth it!

It took an hour and 15 minutes to get to work today. It should take around 20 minutes at that time of day, and around 12 minutes when traffic is light. I thought I’d wait for it to clear so I stayed late. It still took an hour. And someone wants to add a high rise on Purcell’s Cove Rd 🤯

Super proud of my partner’s daughter who was selected to participate in the Halifax Urban Folk Festival Youth Songwriters’ Circle. So much young talent in Nova Scotia!
