Followup to that one even, as a thought experiment you could argue that the cost of games should go down to compete with how the entertainment landscape has changed, since it now also includes free to play games and... well, social media. Logging on to laugh at people costs nothing.

There's a certain amount of brain poison it takes to produce a post like this, and it can be instantly demolished with the idea that you cannot force people to spend money
Try raising those prices to $100 and see what happens. Hell, go to $150, why the hell not. Surprise! Now there's a ton of risk.

AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising
