Alt text should be as long as it needs to be in order to effectively describe the content. In some cases, this will be a few phrases. In other cases, it will take a few more sentences. Aim to be as efficient as possible without leaving out key details.

Why does this keep happening to me?
Where are my other sleep disorder people awake at 3am on a Saturday and working on everything? Are you here?

To reduce the cognitive load in data visualizations, directly label your data rather than using legends. This helps colorblind or visually impaired users. It also decreases the work of scanning back and forth trying to match the legend with the data.

Here's a job I didn't know existed: "Crowdfunding Consultant."

Apparently, once you launch an Indiegogo campaign, all you get is a bunch of spam from people wanting you to pay them to make your campaign better.

Anyone have ACTUAL questions for us?

My spell check seems to think I’ve coined a new word: “neuroinclusion.” I didn’t think I made this one up, but maybe? Anyone else use this word?

2025 is finally dead. Huzzah!

Resolutions seem a bit rigid at the moment, so instead I have some 2026 themes:
Simplifying - branding, product offerings, and more
Letting Go - of control, letting others help
Sustainability - building systems that last

What are your themes, goals, or resolutions for 2026?

Our accessibility resolution for 2026: fully accessible websites for all of our projects! Our inclusivepixel.com website has grown over the last 5 years into something that's just too difficult to maintain, so we've hired a web developer to help us redo the whole mess with accessibility in mind.

Just an interesting rabbit hole read. I’ve been (unintentionally) practicing polyphasic sleep lately.

Heavy imposter syndrome kind of day. I feel like I'm cosplaying as a business owner, while my husband does actual physical labor to keep us afloat. I really hope a lot of hard work starts paying off soon. 😭
