I led an easy hike today at wildlife refuge for a woman nearly 80 with artificial hips and scoliosis who can no longer keep up on regular hikes. She decided to look for a nonexistent bridge to cross a channel and I discovered she had taken TWO pain pills. We got a tractor ride back.

I led an easy hike today at wildlife refuge for a woman nearly 80 with artificial hips and scoliosis who can no longer keep up on regular hikes. She decided to look for a nonexistent bridge to cross a channel and I discovered she had taken TWO pain pills. We got a tractor ride back.

This was a crazy-hard snowshoe hike to 12,320-foot elevation Deception Peak in the Pecos Wilderness of New Mexico. It is considered a strenuous hike without snow. We found this amazing igloo at treeline and I crawled inside. My hair was curly after completing 6 rounds of chemo in 2009-1010.
