During the 2024-25 flu season, 289 children died from flu. This is the highest number of pediatric flu deaths since tracking began in 2004.

Despite recent federal changes, pediatric and healthcare experts still recommend the flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older.

It's National Influenza Vaccination Week! You may have heard that everyone 6 months and older should get a flu shot by the end of October (TRUE), and think it's too late to get one now (FALSE)! It's not too late to get a flu vaccine. Getting one now is better than not getting one at all!

A recent video is circulating that claims vaccines were not the reason polio stopped spreading in the U.S. In reality, polio vaccination was so successful that between 1955 (when the vaccine was introduced) and 1961, yearly cases dropped from 58,000 to just 161. By 1979, the U.S. was polio-free.
