i had not anticipated tears
i feel like a burden for who i am, for what i cannot do a concept foreign to those who raised me tired and growing hair where i never would have before spending most days in bed, pen and page discarded because the weight of what i have always loved is too heavy to bear too difficult to hold onto in a weakened grasp words fall short, always, of the depth of the well, spoken into the dark in the hope maybe they might reach, this time to live, if not of my own choice, on behalf of someone else because it would hurt them, more than my own hurt is worth if one cannot find a light, their own light, in the depths of the dark, whyever would a light that burns them be what's best to grasp? expectation weighs heavier on a burden than anything else failure to meet it, failure to be in the face of despair and exhaustion and whatever others might try to extend i thought earlier in the dark of loss about how small my family has become how small it would be in my absence how my mother is the sole grandparent on our side, should children come into this world how i would be one of four and maybe someday there would be cousins and i would be one of four i don't even know what i would call myself, uncle is too much and aunt is completely wrong and it hurts, to know all i have is four great loss aches even as it tries to soothe with opportunity to move forward, with a moment of reprieve at a cost i never would have wanted to pay and i feel i am undeserving, even if it was never my choice to make i am too tired i have checked out of living, stuck only in my mind on autopilot every hour of every day lucky to move of my own will, lucky to smile deeply enough i feel it in my chest i feel like a burden because i am given love, but i cannot reach it to give it back

been struggling immensely with holding onto creativity even just to cope, not enjoy, and it has drained the will from me. i haven't been able to really pick up my tablet to do anything of note for most of the end of january and start of february

my exhaustion is soul-deep, anymore, and it's been impossible to even be out of bed more days than not. a lot of time im awake entirely just out of necessity. there is so much i need to do, yet all i can usually manage is being awake. sometimes even recreational 'joys' are too difficult

it's been taking me a lot more days and a lot more time to draw lately, and i think a good part of it is that i'm being pickier about details and trying not to push myself to cram it all in. it allows me to be more thorough. the payoff is that i like the finished work, but also i get less done 😔

i changed nex' hair for fun (and because i liked how thise bangs looked after the update) but i feel like it's a perfectly canon appearance swap after becoming more themself and growing into someone who is more confident and has more hold on their ideals and personality 🙂‍↕️

ive been good, about sleeping at a specific time, for the last few months as ive worked on trying to get through the depression. im failing tonight. i dont really know why im sharing this, i guess as a gravestone to mark the occasion
