Väärinkäsitykset hiilinielukeskustelussa johtuvat enimmäkseen siitä, että metsien kasvudynamiikkaa ei täysin ymmärretä. Siksi olenkin usein havainnollistanut nielujen kehitystä tämän valtakunnan metsien inventointiin perustuvan kuvan avulla. Asiasta enemmän alla olevassa ketjussa.
