A common perception is that clean energy is replacing fossil fuels in developed economies where power demand is not growing fast or even at all, but cannot scale up fast enough to cover demand growth in rapidly developing countries.

Can you guess which five countries provide a counter-example?

Big increase in GM EV sales this year, despite discontinuing their previous best seller, the Bolt. Impressive work to scale the Ultium platform vehicles to >100k sales (key to getting to profitable per vehicle margins).
The rollercoaster continues. We've got GM. They've posted 10k units more of EV sales in 4Q 2024.

Totaling up their entire year, GM hits about 114,400 units. Really impressive stuff, up from the low-to-mid 70ks in 2023.

Lyriq and Equinox EV are the big winners.

This is so lazy: Germany, Europe, the West—even, have lots of problems but blaming it on the energy transition is really ideological. And plain wrong.
