Hi @wiringthebrain.bsky.social! Saw some parts of your Wien conference presentation. Like your idea abt "holistic" "whole" set of events rather than 1 diff-making E. But I'd like to hear more about what you think this set is, eg, what do you think of "narrative"?

Hi @helendecruz.net ! If I remember correctly, on Twitter you had once mentioned a story that was a response to/critique of Le Guin's Omelas. Or was that not you? (Sorry for bothering in that case!)

Here's a start to a mathematical philosophers starter pack. I'm having a hard time keeping track of who is here these days. Apologies if I missed you. Let me know if you want to be added or removed, or if you know anyone else who should be on here.

But as they increasingly seize economic opportunities & provide for their families, culture is changing!

The casualness of reason < The cunning of reason
Love when Marxists say “this is a science!” and if you ask “ah so we’re going to make casual models generating precise predictions we can test and iteratively improve?” it’s clarified: no not a *bourgeois* science, the other, better, kind, where you mainly just reinterpret Hegel.

I put in a lot of heart in this presentation. Tried to show that greater awareness of realities of social science improved #philsci in general. Also gave a tiny preview of where I am heading next, namely the identity of social science which where I started at LSE in the 1990s...
