I'm a little late but I'll do this too now.
Ok, I’ll do this too. One like=one disability related thought for the anniversary of the ADA.

Got a new internship at center for puppetry arts. One of my new coworkers is wearing a Star Trek Lower Decks shirt. Turns out her husband works on the show. They have tons of Moopsy plushes.

Burning wood. Maybe that's not unusual?
6. What is an unusual smell that you enjoy?

Happy to see this video make rounds. I hope it means more people will use pictures of the actual Jim instead of that unrelated Canadian dude.

I think it’s important to keep in mind that pretty much every bad thing happening right now in America has happened before. That doesn’t make it any less abhorrent, but it does mean we’ve been here before as a country.

What did you think the Harris campaign slogan meant?

Pretty sure Elon has like, 12 sockpuppet accounts on his site. I’m not wearing a tinfoil hat, am I? At the very least, there’s a bunch of accounts that seem to largely exist to boost his posts.

I’m at a restaurant and they’re playing Spirited Away. You could probably say this about many movies (especially Ghibli) but I feel like you can enjoy it without hearing a single spoken word. It’s so breathtaking.

As of this month, Autism Speaks is now 20 years old. They have remained controversial in autistic spaces since their inception. Learn why (and perhaps a few things you didn’t already know) in my new substack. open.substack.com/pub/iraeidle...

Idk why I keep coming on here expecting things to be chill only to see probably the most dooming of any social media platform I currently use. At the very least, I see the most stuff that makes me anxious.

I learned recently that there’s an artifact in my house of a “Davening Rabbi”. My grandparents acquired this on a trip to Israel circa 1971. The head can bob up and down. I believe the sculptor’s name is Frank Meisler.

My dad likes to pronounce this app "blue-ski". What do we think of this? I disagree with him.

AutismOne, an antivaxx curebie organization, has now ceased operations due to a lack of funding. This year has already included a surprising amount of Ws for neurodiversity. There’s still several big fights ahead. go.autismone.org

Amidst a chaotic 2 weeks with an avalanche of bad news, here's a little bit of good news. This may represent a culture shift on what the best autism research to conduct is (no small part thx to neurodiversity) but it's too soon to tell for sure. Genetic studies definitely still exist.
Congrats to @kmunday.bsky.social and all of us in autism community who helped to #StopSpectrum10K. Today the S10K team announced study's cancellation. See the report from Hopkins Van Mil and Karen Leneh Buckle, and a reflective blog by Simon Baron-Cohen: www.autismresearchcentre.com/projects/spe...

Ok I may have gone a bit too far in this post. Let me make something clear-I can disagree with someone’s decision not to vote and even be mad at them. I can’t always control how I feel about something. However, I can totally control how I act upon said feelings. Notice how I didn’t namedrop anyone.
Message to any leftists who made it a point not to vote in this election and "divest from electoral politics" (or vote 3rd party)...

You aren't "liberating" anyone by sitting on your hands during election season. Voting is a 2 way street but it isn't *not* voters' fault when 47 strips away rights.

I'm (not) sorry but you should not, in fact, treat autistic nazis with kiddy gloves. Or any nazi with a disability. What Elon did was a dogwhistle at best.

What people call “behavior supports” covers a wide variety of services, and not all of these services are truly helpful to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. How can we move…

I really don't like LinkedIn. I guess it's nice to have as a Google result for myself but I haven't benefitted from it professionally at all. It's more annoying than anything to get DMs from people I don't know.
