Dr. Kim Borden Penney, Ph.D., is a descendant of Black Canadians and Indigenous (Mi'kmaq) people in Nova Scotia whose roots trace back to the late 1600s. She earned her doctorate from the University of Toronto. Her study titled* Banking on Equity: Bay Street and Black Women's Leadership in Banks* examined the leadership experiences of Black women in the Toronto banking sector and their perceptions of opportunities for mobility and advancement to executive management positions. The research explored the factors and conditions that make Black women's executive leadership in corporate Canada exceedingly rare.

Dr. Carmen Gill is a Professor in the Department of Sociology, which she joined full-time in 2014 after serving ten years as Director of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (2004–2014). Her research centers on police interventions in intimate partner violence (IPV), domestic homicide, and the treatment of perpetrators and victims within the criminal justice system. She works closely with police agencies across Canada and currently leads a three-year national research project titled “Coercive Control, Risk Assessment and Evidence of Intimate Partner Violence: Police Response,” in collaboration with the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), the Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN), and l’École nationale de police du Québec. Dr. Gill previously led the Canadian Observatory on the Justice System Response to Intimate Partner Violence (2006–2016) and spearheaded the development of the National Framework for Collaborative Police Action on IPV with CACP. She is also conducting an in-depth study on domestic homicide cases in New Brunswick from 1999 to 2018.

Dr Zoe Wyatt-Potage is an Australian Clinical Social Worker and global mental health consultant. She has worked in psychological wellbeing for over a decade, specialising in trauma-informed care, resilience and sustainable approaches to mental health. With a phd (psychology) in trauma and resilience, her career has spanned Southeast Asia, Mauritius and Australia. Working internationally as a clinical consultant, therapist and educator, supporting individuals, leaders and organisations to navigate the intersections of mental health, workplace wellbeing and trauma recovery. Her research and writing bridge neuroscience, trauma and organisational wellbeing, with recent publications on digital trauma, AI companions and workplace stress.
