Way back on 31st May 1984, passengers disembark from the last Sheffield bound train of the day at Brigg on a South Yorkshire PTE sponsored class 114 DMU.

Surprisingly, station houses down the Brigg Line have survived mostly against the odds with Blyton, Northorpe, Kirton-in-Lindsey and Scawby still standing. Here we view Blyton on 14th. April 1983 with 56010 heading west on an empty coal train.

A 6 car Class 142 railbus formation runs ECS thought Brigg at 0617 on Sunday 12th August 1990 enroute to Cleethorpes to then work a railtour to Whitby.

Originally planned to be routed via Scunthorpe, the line was shut due to engineering works so was diverted

And before the Brigg line went down to a 1 day a week service for the next 30 years.

Regional Railways were still doing their bit by promoting the line.

Due to major engineering works in the Sheffield area, there will be a replacement bus service running on the Brigg line between Monday 2nd February until Friday 9th of February.
