Developing a culturally responsive instructional supervision framework to ensure a more equitable and emancipatory society. I take pictures, consume art, and never take myself too seriously. Love The Dead, Kung Fu Kenny, ODESZA, Neil Young, and others.
I miss the days of old Twitter. When you could post a thought/experience and people would engage with you as a community. I met so many people on that forum. I had real connections and developed real friendships that carried over to the real world. And I wish those connections were still possible.

Happy to have 3 out of 4 @ucea-leadership.bsky.social submissions accepted. One on culturally responsive instructional supervision, one on culturally responsive school leadership in action, and one on equity-oriented rural educational leadership. Puerto Rico, here I come!

Fully acknowledging that “I too have proposals rejected,” some proposals don’t stand a chance, because even though the topic is critically important, they are often poorly crafted. I wonder if hyperlinking a couple of exemplars to proposal calls would help improve the quality of what is reviewed…

I wrote 2,000 words today and submitted 2 UCEA proposals. There will not be another more productive day until early September 2025…

Good bye, #AERA2025 and Denver. I laughed and loved and cried and was reminded that our humanity is very much alive and well. And that we all have our parts to play as we reimagine a more loving and inclusive education system - as well as the ways in which we strengthen our pluralistic society.

Could not be prouder to have crafted this labor of love with some of the best minds in educational leadership. #10 in multicultural education methods and #20 in educational leadership. So absolutely floored by the support from so many people!

First defense of the spring and it was a banger! So incredibly proud for Dr. Dabney as she successfully defended her dissertation, “Examining How School Leaders Implement Culturally Responsive Strategies to Improve Outcomes for Minoritized Students” today!

Help magnify the incredible work of Dr. Patricia Virella and repost this so we can enact more equity-oriented educational leadership in these times of crises! #edusky
