thegeekywaffle.com/home/2024/7/... : I'm currently reading this by @chriskempshall.bsky.social, and it is a pertinent commentary on the nature of fascism as it exists through history (both real, and not), full of terrifying echoes of the reality we are trapped within. Recommended.

It’s crazy how you can give the pharmacy a random combination of letters and numbers and your meds will go from $1200 to $35.

But only if you are digitally savvy enough to go to the drug manufacturers website.

It’s built to take advantage of non savvy people.

American healthcare is so broken.

"Adults make mistakes" too. And calling a 26 year old a child is goddamn insulting. After all, wasn't he 25 when he became a Dad? What an arsehole.

I absolutely had NO idea Suede once covered "The Man Who Sold The World." at a soundcheck in 1995. Or that they uploaded it to YouTube in 2010! www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqwI...

www.theguardian.com/books/2026/j... : "The problem isn’t “phones”, and it isn’t “social media”. The problem is human fracking, a world-spanning land-grab into human consciousness – which big tech is treating as a vast, unclaimed territory, ripe for sacking and empire."

Some streaming service needs to sign a deal for 40 episodes of this. Maybe with Olivia Coleman.
If you use Victorian newspapers for research, you will always be down a rabbit hole. Today we have Slater's Lady Cyclist Detectives (London Evening Standard, 28 October 1896).

What matters in life is how you live your life. How you treat people. How you make them feel. Were you a good human? Did you bring joy where you could? Make the world better? Live your life in such a way that people do not feel a sense of relief when you die. Death is not the end. There is a beyond.

At a shop earlier, and as a 'nudge', I felt that I should look in a couple of areas I don't normally visit. And there, I found OMD's Dep2 "Live At Winstons" 1978 7"ep. And another nudge to look at the kids books, in which I found the 1979 Star Trek : Motion Picture lobby programme. I was helped.
